About Us: We are an independent jewellers at the forefront of jewellery repair in the Kent and London area, specializing in resizing, cleaning & polishing, soldering, and stone sourcing & resetting. Our on-site workshop allows us to offer a unique range of services, including the design and manufacture of custom engagement rings and wedding bands. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bench Jeweller to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our workshop, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality repairs and bespoke jewellery pieces. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in a supportive and innovative environment.

About The Applicant:

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute a variety of jewellery repairs and bespoke work, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

 

  • Handle customers’ cherished possessions and family heirlooms with care, demonstrating empathy and exceptional interpersonal skills.

 

  • Perform tasks such as ring sizing (up and down), replacing half shanks, chain repairs, re-tipping/re-building claws, and polishing 

 

  • Work effectively with silver, gold, palladium, and platinum, adhering to production guidelines and deadlines

 

  • Lead by example in maintaining workshop cleanliness and ensuring all machinery and equipment are well cared for.

 

  • Conduct weekly stocktakes of materials, tools, and equipment

 

  • Identify and rectify quality issues throughout the production process, pushing for continuous improvement.

 

  • Stay updated on jewellery manufacturing processes and pursue personal development under the guidance of the Senior Jeweller/ Workshop Manager.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a bench jeweller, with a strong background in working with sterling silver, 9ct, 14ct, and 18ct gold.

 

  • Experience with laser welding is advantageous.

 

  • Flexible and able to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Strong technical understanding of jewellery manufacturing processes.

 

  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot and address quality issues proactively.

 

  • A commitment to upholding our quality standards and suggesting improvements to enhance production efficiency.

 

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships within the workshop and wider teams.

 

  • A proactive approach to seeking guidance when needed and breaking boundaries to improve processes.
