Join our Christmas Ice Rink team at Bluewater!
We’re recruiting an Ice Rink Duty Manager and Rink Supervisors to help us deliver a fantastic Christmas ice skating experience at Bluewater Shopping Centre.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll help manage the day-to-day running of the rink, support and motivate our seasonal team, maintain high safety standards and make sure every guest receives a warm welcome and excellent service.
You do NOT need to be able to ice skate. Full training and ongoing support are provided, and a dedicated Medic is on site, so first aid certification is not required.

What you'll be doing
- Leading and supporting the rink team during busy daily operations
- Managing opening, closing and shift handovers
- Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring guests have a great experience
- Motivating the team and maintaining high standards throughout each shift
- Responding professionally to customer enquiries and resolving issues
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Carrying out regular operational and safety checks
- Supporting the technical team with ice maintenance when required
- Monitoring attendance and providing hourly operational reports
- Ensuring the rink, equipment and surrounding areas remain clean, safe and well maintained
- Remaining calm and taking the lead when dealing with unexpected situations
What we're looking for
You’ll need:
- At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience
- At least 1 year of customer service experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A friendly, positive and approachable manner
- Excellent reliability and punctuality
- Confidence working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- A strong commitment to customer service and workplace safety
- Reliable transport to and from work including early and late shifts
Experience in hospitality, leisure, attractions, events or recreation would be an advantage but isn't essential.
Working hours
This is a seasonal role running across the busy Christmas period.
Shifts will include weekdays, evenings and weekends, and you'll need good availability throughout the festive period before and after Christmas.
The rink is closed on Christmas Day.
We understand that people may have other commitments, so where possible we will try to be flexible with working hours depending on the availability of the wider team. If there are particular commitments you need to work around, we're happy to discuss them.
Pay & benefits
Supervisor / Duty Manager: £13.50–£14.50 per hour
Plus:
- Holiday pay of approximately £1.63–£1.76 per hour

We employ all team members through PAYE, with tax and National Insurance handled through payroll.
You will need to provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK as part of the recruitment process.
